Let’s Welcome New Laws That Legalise The Dronecode

Let’s welcome new laws that legalise the Dronecode

Important news for drone enthusiasts: New laws now in force in the UK will restrict all drones from flying above 400 feet or within one kilometre of airport boundaries.

The measures are hoped to reduce the possibility of damage to windows and engines of planes and helicopters.

Further laws requiring owners of drones weighing 250 grams or more to register with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), in addition to online safety tests for drone pilots, will come into force on 30 November next year.

As a responsible, CAA licensed drone operator, I wholeheartedly welcome these laws, which effectively legalise the existing ‘Dronecode’ recommendations.
All licensed operators are keen to improve the  public perception of SUAVs (small unmanned aerial vehicles) – the safety and privacy of the public is paramount.
